Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi – Backlash
Author: Aaron Allston
Released: 15/04/2010
Following on from Star Wars Fate of the Jedi Abyss, repercussions from the dark side’s fatal seduction of Jacen Solo and the mysterious plague of madness afflicting young Jedi continue to wreak havoc galaxy-wide. Having narrowly escaped the deranged Force worshippers known as the Mind Walkers, and a deadly Sith hit squad, Luke and Ben Skywalker are in pursuit of the now Masterless Sith apprentice Vestara Khai. It is a chase that leads to the forbidding planet Dathomir, where an enclave of powerful dark-side Force-wielders will give Vestara the edge she needs to escape, and where the Skywalkers will be forced into combat for their quarry and their lives.
Meanwhile, Han and Leia Solo are on their own desperate mission, shuttling madness-stricken Jedi from Coruscant to safe haven in the Transitory Mists, and beyond the grasp of Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala. But the bold maneuver only intensifies Daala’s fury, and she is determined to shatter Jedi Order resistance once and for all.
Yet, no greater threat exists than that which still waits in the depths of the distant Maw Cluster: A being of pure, ravenous dark-side energy named Abeloth calls out across the stars to Jedi and Sith alike. For some, it may be the ultimate source of answers crucial to their survival. For others, it could be the ultimate weapon of conquest. But for all, it is a game-changing and life-altering encounter of untold magnitude, and a tactical gambit with unimaginable consequences.

Dark Horse Comics and Del Rey Books have announced that they will be joining forces to explore a new time frame in the Star Wars galaxy with author John Jackson Miller leading the way.
Star Wars Knight Errant will first arrive as an ongoing comic series published by Dark Horse Comics later this year. Then, next year, Del Rey will publish a Knight Errant novel, also written by Miller, featuring an all-new adventure.
The story takes place more than 1,000 years before the events of A New Hope, during the Dark Age of the Republic when the Sith were powerful. It’s more than a generation before Sith in-fighting led to the rise of Darth Bane, and his restrictive “rule of two” that restructured the order to operate in the shadows. In this timeframe, the Republic is in shambles, crippled by plague and war, and the Sith are dominant.
“While the Jedi are doing their best to keep order in what remains of the Republic, those living in this crazy-quilt of Sith dominions are in constant danger,” Miller said. “If their abusive rulers weren’t bad enough, constant internal warfare means no place is safe. Knight Errant asks what it means to be a Jedi outside the Republic, in a time and place where no other hope exists. I’ve greatly enjoyed working with Dark Horse and Del Rey on KOTOR and Lost Tribe, and I’m really excited about the opportunity to develop a new part of the timeline in two media at once.”
Keep checking back for additional updates about this project as it comes closer to publication.
